Leng Pochanakorn - The Engineer
Originally from Thailand, Leng is a qualified engineer who somehow took all those years of education, technical training and specialist knowledge and parlayed them into the glamorous world of trophies (and make no mistake, it is uber glamorous..).
His family must be enormously proud.
Leng works in our production department and is something of a jack of all trades. His main gig is assembly, but you'll also find him engraving, printing and generally stepping in wherever another pair of capable hands is required. Having a qualified engineer in assembly does come with advantages. While the rest of us might simply screw a trophy together, Leng is presumably considering load distribution, structural integrity and whether the little plastic golfer on top has an acceptable centre of gravity. We don't actually know if he does this, because Leng just quietly gets on with the job.
Around the workshop, Leng is also known as “Popcorn”, a nickname derived from Pochanakorn through the traditional Australian process of deciding that someone’s actual surname requires far too much effort.
Away from work, Leng enjoys walking, exploring and heading off on long drives - apparently possessing that rare ability to get into a car without necessarily needing to arrive somewhere quickly. He's also partial to a good BBQ, which seems an entirely appropriate hobby for an engineer. Fire, metal, precise temperature control and meat. It's basically engineering you can eat.
Despite the nickname, putting Popcorn on the BBQ remains strictly prohibited.

Claim to Fame: After years of study, Leng became a qualified engineer before eventually reaching the pinnacle of his profession - assembling trophies. He remains the only person on staff capable of attaching a plastic ten-pin bowler to a marble base while fully understanding the structural forces involved.
